Motorized Ice Chest Design

The motorized Ice chest design was the capstone project for Mechanical Engineering. The project was selected in class and the end goal was to build a electric scooter that could carry an ice chest. A full description of the design can be found here:

Project Report

The parts and components for the design were chosen based on calculations. A theoretical model was adapted for the evaluation of most of the components. The models were then evaluated with values required for the final product. Once each of the required engineer values were found, the components were then ordered online. All of the parts were cut and wielded in the university. The overall chassis structure couldn't be theoretically analyzed for bending and stresses and so FEA (Finite Element Analysis) was done based on simple assumptions to check the overall structure's capability. The simulations were run on SolidWorks and on ANSYS.
